This blog is based on personal experience from our visit to a Pumpkin Patch. I received no money or other compensation for this post.
The Pumpkin Patch.
It’s October, and my son had one wish this autumn holiday. He wanted to visit a pumpkin patch, so we did. We travelled close by to the Pumpkin Patch in Milton Keynes at Mount Mill Farm.
My boyfriend wore his wellies, prepared for the occasion. I, however, wore my black trainers.
Although I did not have my wellies on, I did wear my pumpkin top, especially for the pumpkin picking occasion.
Firstly, my son had a thorough look around the pumpkin patch, trying to find the best pumpkin in Milton Keynes.
At last! He found the perfect pumpkin for him.
Subsequently, the following day, my son and I sat down with our carving kit and bowl at the ready. I cut around the top of the pumpkin while my son scooped out the pumpkin seeds.
Lastly, my son finished carving the pumpkin and placed an LED tealight inside.
Here is my son’s petrifying pumpkin:
We used the pumpkin for our soup, which my son kindly helped me make.
The ingredients for our soup included:
- 1 baking potato (chopped into chunks).
- Sweetcorn and a handful of thyme (3 sprigs).
- 2 cloves of garlic (chopped) and 1/2 red onion, chopped.
- Chicken Stock (I estimated how much liquid we put in).
- 1tsp Paprika.
- 1tsp Cayenne pepper.
- 150ml double cream.
- Salt, for seasoning.
(I added a hint of chilli powder into my soup portion just for extra heat).
We served our soup with a side of garlic dough balls.
